Jenna Marbles is saying goodbye to her beloved pup.

On Friday, Dec. 19, the 39-year-old former YouTuber’s husband, Julien Solomita, shared the news that their chihuahua Mr. Marbles has died at age 17.

ā€œMr. marbles. thank u for showing me what it truly means to ride or die. i love you almost as much as you loved jenna,ā€ Solomita captioned an Instagram post, which included a photo of the pup. ā€œthanks for all the years of love and protection. rest easy, chip ā¤ļø šŸ¼ā€

Jenna — who announced her retirement from YouTube in 2020 and has led a private life in the years since — first adopted Mr. Marbles when he was 6 months old, and he was a regular fixture of her channel as it grew to 20 million subscribers at its peak. Mr. Marbles even made an appearance on her wedding day in December 2022, happily posing for a few shots in a baby stroller.

In November, Solomita revealed in a Twitch livestream that Mr. Marbles had entered ā€œend-of-lifeā€ care, sharing that the pup’s recent health developments had been emotionally devastating for the couple.

"I didn't want to make a whole thing about it at the start of the stream, but I'm mentally not fully here lately," Solomita began. ā€œIt's sort of been all-consuming on top of all the things we have going on."

"I know a lot of you have dealt with losing pets and end-of-life care for your pets," the internet personality continued in the November livestream. "I don't want to sit here, because if I talk about it, I'm just going to cry, and I don't want to sit here and cry about it right now."

Jenna first began her rise to internet fame in 2010, sharing comedic videos on her YouTube channel until her departure from the platform a decade later. The internet personality was particularly known for satirical skits and deprecating humor, earning a Shorty Award and several Streamy Award nominations.

In June 2020, she announced that she had decided to ā€œmove onā€ from YouTube in a tearful video addressing several of her controversial past videos. In the post, she apologized for several of her past actions — including a clip where she shamed women who "ran around and slept around" and a music video with lyrics that appeared to mock Asian people — and disabled several of the videos on her channel.

"I don't know how else to say this, but it doesn't matter because all that matters is that people were offended and it hurt them,ā€ she said at the time. ā€œFor that, I am so unbelievably sorry. This isn't okay, and it hasn't existed on the internet for a long time because it's not okay."

Continued Jenna: ā€œI think I'm just going to move on from this channel for now. I don't know if that's forever. I don't know how long it's going to be. I want to make sure that the things that I put into the world are not hurting anyone."
