A new Street Fighter movie will be released in theaters in October 2026
The classic video game series was previously adapted into a 1994 movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raúl Juliá
The upcoming Street Fighter features a star-studded cast, including Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa and 50 Cent
Street Fighter is bringing the brawl to the big screen — again.
One of the most iconic video game franchises of all time, Street Fighter was first adapted into a star-studded 1994 movie featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raúl Juliá, Ming-Na Wen and more, playing the group of intense boxers and warriors.
The legendary arcade title is being turned into another action film, scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 16, 2026. Fans got a taste of the tussles in store when the first trailer for Street Fighter dropped in April 2026, showing the video game characters in different clashes.
The new Street Fighter movie follows friends Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken (Noah Centineo), who are recruited by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to participate in the dangerous World Warrior Tournament.
"But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past," reads the official plot description, per The Hollywood Reporter. "And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!"
In honor of the upcoming film, here is the cast from the original 1994 film side-by-side with the 2026 roster.

Cody Rhodes as Colonel William F. Guile

Jean-Claude Van Damme originally played Guile in 1994's Street Fighter, and in the 2026 movie, professional wrestler Cody Rhodes will be taking the reins.
The all-American hero was first introduced in the Street Fighter II video game. According to GameRant, Guile seeks revenge on General M. Bison, who killed his friend. The patriotic puncher has been a consistent character in the game series, with his signature moves like the Sonic Boom and the Flash Kick.

Callina Liang as Chun-Li

Ming-Na Wen kicked it as Chun-Li in the original Street Fighter, and in the upcoming film, Callina Liang will take over as the "First Lady of Fighting Games."
In a May 2025 interview with Nerd Reactor, Wen recalled that Street Fighter was her "first big film project."
"We trained intensely for that project, and I think it really did help me for my future roles," the Mulan and Mandalorian actress said. "It was goofy. It was fun, and it was a an incredible adventure to be overseas and shooting and working with these very popular characters."
In June 2025, when Liang's casting was announced, the Presence star posted the news on Instagram, writing, "Someone pinch me, literally grew up playing this game ... (12 year old me is shaking dying crying right now)."

Noah Centineo as Ken Masters

Noah Centineo will throw uppercuts as Ken Masters, one of Street Fighter's lead protagonists, who finds himself battling it out in the World Warrior Tournament. Damian Chapa played Ken in the 1994 movie.
In August 2025, Centineo posted a snap on Instagram of his Street Fighter muscle physique and captioned the shirtless selfie, "Road brawler," a play on the movie's title.

Andrew Koji as Ryu

Ryu is Ken's friend, and he joins him in competing in the World Warrior Tournament. Byron Mann played him in the original movie, and now Andrew Koji will throw the punches in the new film.
Koji is familiar with fighting on-screen, having starred in three seasons of the HBO Max series Warrior.

Jason Momoa as Blanka

Jason Momoa will bring Blanka to life on the big screen. Previously, the green mutant was played by Robert Mammone in the 1994 movie.
Blanka is a powerful, hairy beast with electrifying powers due to him "coming into contact with electric eels," according to NME.
Street Fighter is just the latest high-profile role for Momoa. In recent years, the actor has starred in box office blockbusters like Aquaman, Dune and A Minecraft Movie.

David Dastmalchian as General M. Bison

David Dastmalchian had a Late Night with the Devil, and now he's entering his villain era, playing the evil General M. Bison.
Raúl Juliá portrayed Bison in 1994's Street Fighter, and it was his final theatrical film role. The Addams Family star died shortly before the movie's release. Per Screen Rant, Juliá agreed to play Bison because his children were fans of the Street Fighter video games.
Aside from Late Night with the Devil, Dastmalchian has appeared in Oppenheimer, Dune and Apple TV's Murderbot series.
During an interview with IGN at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con, the actor said he was "thrilled and honored" to be playing Bison.
"I've just been getting in character by going to the arcade and playing a lot of Street Fighter II, and I never lose," he teased.

Mel Jarnson as Lieutenant Cammy White

Pop princess Kylie Minogue landed some punches as Cammy White in the 1994 Street Fighter film. For the 2026 version, Mel Jarnson will be playing the speedy soldier.
Jarnson is no stranger to video game adaptations, she took on the role of Nitara in the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie.

50 Cent as Balrog

50 Cent (born Curtis Jackson) is entering the ring as the brawny boxer, Balrog. Die Hard actor Grand L. Bush played the character in the original Street Fighter movie.
In addition to his music career, 50 Cent has acted in multiple projects, including the Starz series Power and The Expendables 4.
According to Vice, Balrog is described as a "disgraced fighter" who uses his strength for evil while working for Bison.

Hirooki Goto as E. Honda

Hirooki Goto will slap it up as sumo star E. Honda in the 2026 Street Fighter. In the 1994 movie, Honda was played by professional football player-turned-actor Peter Tuiasosopo.
Goto is a Japanese professional wrestler who has also acted, appearing in projects like the 2016 Indonesian action film, Headshot.

Olivier Richters as Zangief

Olivier Richters will play Russian wrestler Zangief in 2026's Street Fighter. For the 1994 movie, Zangief was brought to life by Andrew Bryniarski, who would later portray Leatherface in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
At 7 feet 2 inches, Richters proclaims himself to be the "tallest actor and bodybuilder in the world," according to his Instagram bio.

Indian actor Vidyut Jammwal will try to bring peace with punches as yoga master Dhalsim. In the 1994 Street Fighter, Dhalsim was a scientist, played by Roshan Seth.
According to Deadline, Street Fighter will be Jammwal's U.S. movie debut. The action star has previously starred in Bollywood action-thrillers like the Commando series and Sanak.

Orville Peck as Vega

Masked country crooner Orville Peck will keep his face covered while playing Vega, the vicious fighter who uses metal claws as one of his weapons. Jay Tavare wielded the killer glove and mask in the 1994 Street Fighter movie.
In recent years, Peck has become a country music icon. His debut album, Pony, was released in 2019, and since then, he has collaborated with other superstars such as Minogue, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Diplo and Beck.
In March 2025, Peck made his Broadway debut, playing the Emcee in Cabaret.
