Lauren Sánchez has a baby with Bezos on the brain.
Sánchez Bezos, who wed billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in June, suggested in a new profile that she would be eager to expand their blended family.
"I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow," the former broadcast journalist, 56, told the New York Times in an interview published Saturday, April 11. Asked for clarification, she simply repeated, "I would have a baby tomorrow."
The outlet noted that a couple of the licensed helicopter pilot's friends suggested the couple were considering it, though she answered the question with a coy smile. A spokesperson later reached out to note she was not having a baby.
A hypothetical new addition to the family would be the eighth child for the couple, who both have kids from previous relationships. Bezos, 62, and his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, share four children, while Sánchez Bezos and her ex-husband, Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, share two. She has one more child with former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez.
The Bezos' wed in an extraordinarily lavish Venice wedding, after multiple days of star-studded nuptial events and attended by the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bezos' fellow billionaire Bill Gates, and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. President Donald Trump was also reportedly invited but did not attend, The New York Times previously reported.

The multimillion-dollar affair drew ire online and in person, as protests erupted in the region calling for the Blue Origin owner to pay more in taxes amid global frustrations about class and wealth divides. Sánchez Bezos continues to catch strays as Bezos' wife, exuding a new level of wealth in public appearances and Katy Perry-flanked Blue Origin flights, as the billionaire's companies – Washington Post and Amazon – slash jobs.

Regarding the criticism, including over Bezos' ties to Trump, the award-winning TV reporter wished for more kindness. "I can never imagine writing something mean on somebody's Instagram. It would actually break my heart," she told the Times. "I want positive: You look great. You're amazing. I want to just give everyone flowers. Why wouldn't you?"

And as far as criticism over the couple serving as honorary chairs at May's Met Gala – their inclusion has been panned as a hijacking in some fashion circles – she said Anna Wintour reached out directly to ask if they would back the fundraiser.
"Anna called me, and I was like, 'Anna who?'" she joked, according to the outlet, calling it "such an honor."

Wintour, in an email to the Times, said the 2026 gala required a high-energy chair amid the launch of the new Condé M. Nast Galleries and "an enormous, complicated" exhibition. "Lauren is a force," Wintour wrote. "I thought the gala needed that energy."
Criticism over Bezos' wealth hoarding has spilled onto her, especially in comparison to the Blue Origin founder's ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, a celebrated do-gooder to the tune of $26 billion in donations to various causes.
Asked about Bezos' comparatively slower approach to charitable work, Sánchez Bezos told the outlet, "Philanthropy is a job. You have to vet everyone, make sure the money is being used in the right way."
